Flesh & Blood Stories

Story Seminars: Dylan Thomas Centre, Swansea (5th & 6th July, 2025)

Venue Information
We’re really looking forward to seeing you at the Dylan Thomas Centre for the first of our story seminars.
Venue Opening Times: Wednesday to Sunday, 10.00am – 4.30pm
Website: http://www.dylanthomas.com/
Address: Somerset Place, Swansea, SA1 1RR
Telephone: 01792 463980
The centre is a short walk from Swansea Train Station and the Quadrant Bus Station. First Cymru bus number 7 currently stops outside. Though the centre does not offer free parking directly, there’s a large, public car park called East Burrows, just in front of the Centre, which does have limited free parking options. There are also some limited on-street parking options nearby.
The event will take place on the ground floor. Feel free to contact the Dylan Thomas Centre on 01792 463980 if you’d like to discuss any access needs’.
And while there is no café on site, you are more than welcome to bring your own food and drink. Sainsbury’s is just round the corner and Wind St has plenty of options, but there are various cafes just over the Sail Bridge with some cafe options nearby.

Wales Air Show

Attempting to compete with us and the story seminars, Wales Airshow returns to the skies over Swansea Bay during the weekend. There will be some road closures in operation in the area and more information can be found here.
Event Information

Sessions & Times

Story Structure | Part One: ‘Architecture’, 11am – 1pm (Saturday & Sunday).
Story Structure | Part Two: ‘Roadmaps’, 2pm – 4pm (Saturday & Sunday)

Seminar Format

Though both sessions will be in-depth and detailed explorations of story structure and theory, it will essentially be a fun day of talking about our favourite films, plays and novels. It will be mercifully free of ‘interactive activities’, but there will likely be an element of workshopping during the sessions and participants are expected to speak up and ask questions when the opportunity arises.
You are welcome to take notes but you are also invited to sit back and enjoy the session, since an information pack will be provided and emailed to you following the seminar. The important thing is to take in all in, and perhaps think about how it could be applied to your own work.

Recording

The event may be recorded for archive and promotional purposes.
